A letter from the principal
Hello and welcome to our school community.
Ronald Reagan Secondary School is known for its rich history and proud tradition of excellence. Founded in 1956 as Resilience Academy in Virginia, our school has been serving the community for almost seventy years. Over this time, we have built a reputation for providing our students with a high-quality education and a safe, nurturing environment where they can grow and thrive.
We are incredibly proud of the achievements of our students, staff, and alumni. Over the years, we have had the pleasure of watching our students go on to do great things in their chosen field. We always thrilled to see them come back to visit and share their success stories with us.
As a school, we are committed to providing our students with a well-rounded education that prepares them academically and helps them develop the skills and character they will need to succeed in life. Our dedicated and skilled teachers work tirelessly to ensure that every student receives the individual attention and support they need to achieve their full potential.

Admissions
Tuition
$35,000 in annual tuition for grades seven through twelve, paid in full. Technology, books, materials and supplies are inside that figure. Two monthly plans are available and cost more.
About
Never more than 12 students in one room.
Most independent schools publish an average class size. An average is a number you can hit with a seminar of six and a lecture of twenty-six. Ronald Reagan Secondary School publishes a ceiling instead, and a ceiling holds in the class your child is actually sitting in.
Academics & calendar
The school day, and the school year.
Four blocks, ninety minutes
Four blocks of ninety minutes replace six or seven periods of fifty. A laboratory runs start to finish. An essay is drafted and workshopped in one sitting. Students change rooms four times a day instead of seven, and take six courses across the year.
September to May, first bell 8:30
Classes run from Tuesday 8 September 2026 to Friday 28 May 2027 — 170 instructional days, the day after Labor Day to the Friday before Memorial Day.

College credit
Two roads to college credit.
Advanced Placement
Reagan is a College Board member school, code 470032, authorized to offer AP courses and to administer AP examinations. AP sections run on the same ninety-minute block and hold twelve students, not thirty-two.
UC Transfer
A student may enroll concurrently at a local community college and earn college credit and high school credit for the same course, at community college cost. Courses are chosen with the counsellor and transcripts by the RRSS registrar. Whether a course transfers is decided by the receiving university, not by Ronald Reagan Secondary School. Concurrent enrolment does not guarantee admission to any campus.
Beyond the school day
The campus does not go dark at 3:15.
Online Academy
Six courses across four blocks is a full load, and a full load leaves things out. The Online Academy carries the seventh course: a language the schedule cannot hold, a credit to recover, an elective no school of forty-eight could staff on its own. Courses are transcripted by Reagan and count toward the diploma.
Continuing Education & GED
Classrooms sit empty after 3:15. Adult programs use those hours: English language instruction, college and career readiness, and GED preparation across four subjects for adults sitting the California high school equivalency examination.
These programmes are not a course of study for visa purposes. No I‑20 is issued for them, and enrolment is limited to students eighteen and older.
Ronald Reagan Secondary School is proudly accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), an accrediting division of Cognia. Our accreditation demonstrates our dedication to continuous improvement in all that we do.
Ronald Reagan Secondary School is a member of the College Board (School Code 470032). Our school is authorized by the College Board to offer AP classes.
Ronald Reagan Secondary School is a NCAA eligibility school and the school code is 470032. To play sports at an NCAA Division I or II institution, the student athlete must follow NCAA amateurism rules.
This school is authorized under Federal law to enroll nonimmigrant alien students.
